A passion for His People
Capital City Church was founded in the summer of 2021 to create a space in the DC Metro Area that blends spirituality with excellence. Our mission has always been to help people know Jesus, find community, and live purposefully while serving God wholeheartedly. We were compelled by a desire to combat the trend of young people leaving the church and to bring spiritual revival to a city that many saw as spiritually dormant. By God’s grace, we’re succeeding. What started with just 45 attendees in a small room has grown into a vibrant community of over 400 young people on fire for God in just three years.

Phase 1
Acquire & Occupy
Since 2022, God’s faithfulness and the generosity of our church family have helped us raise over $500,000 toward our building fund. To secure 4417 Douglas St NE, Washington DC as the permanent home of Capital City Church, we are now believing for an additional $500,000 to finalize the down payment, close the loan, and establish a lasting place of worship and community impact in the heart of our city.
Phase 2
Remodel & Modernize
Acquiring the property is just the beginning, our next step is to renovate and reimagine it into a ministry hub built with excellence. From vibrant children’s spaces for Capital Kids to cutting-edge worship technology and full accessibility, every corner of the building will be designed for people to encounter God in powerful and transformative ways. Estimated Renovation Cost: $2.5 Million
Phase 3
Expand & outreach
With a permanent home secured and modernized, we will multiply our reach by hosting midweek gatherings, expanding discipleship opportunities, and increasing our outreach capacity. This expansion will allow Capital City Church to engage more neighborhoods, serve more families, and establish a stronger, unshaken gospel presence across Washington, DC.

Pursuing a building project means more to us than just acquiring a space of worship. this project is about Capital City Church protecting the legacy of the gospel in Washington D.C. and ensuring that future generations have a place to encounter God, gather in unity, and build faith together.
The loss of church buildings to residential developers in D.C. doesn’t just take away physical space, it strips away spiritual foundations. Every time a sanctuary is converted into condo or retail, the community loses a place of prayer, worship, and refuge.
For us, this means fewer places to gather, disciple, and serve our city. It weakens the body of Christ in our region and threatens to silence the gospel’s presence in neighborhoods where it has stood for generations.
