We believe that water baptism is a public declaration of three important things: you are a follower of Jesus Christ, you are beginning a changed life in Christ, and you are part of a new family.
The Greek word from which we get the word baptism is “baptizo”, which means “to immerse”. All water baptisms in scripture were by full immersion. When baptized, Christians are immersed underwater to identify with the death and burial of Jesus and raised out of the water to identify with His resurrection. Matthew 3:16, Mark 1:10, Acts 8:38-39
